Lake Lure Golf Course is about 25 minutes from the house and offers the least expensive fun for beginners in the area. This Donald Ross designed course is located near Larkin’s on the Lake, making it a perfect place to play 9 holes and then enjoy lunch overlooking Lure Lake. You do not need a tee time.
Black Mountain Golf Course is about 45 minutes from the vacation home and offers the best value in the area. The greens are in good condition, each hole offers great views, and it’s really just a wonderful course. This course was also designed by Donald Ross and features a 747 yard par 6, which at one time was the longest hole in the world. Tee times are recommended.
Rumbling Bald Resort features two beautiful golf courses that offers some of the more expensive and beautiful golfing in the area. Bald Mountain Golf Course is the older of the two courses here and was the site of some of the filming for “Dirty Dancing.” Apple Valley Golf Course was designed by Dan Maples and is considered to be one of the most beautiful mountain golf courses in the country. Both courses are 45 minutes from the vacation home, and make for a great day of golfing for the avid golfer.
